FUNCTIONAL STATEMENT
- To provide legislative support to the Sangguniang Panlungsod as stated in Section 469 of the Local Government Code of 1991.
OBJECTIVE/S
- To provide an efficient and effective assistance with barangays and other local, provincial and national officials.
1. Attend Weekly Session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod;
2. Assist the Sanggunian Panlungsod in holding meetings with barangays and other local, provincial and national officials;
3. Facilitate information dissemination and campaigns on public issues as directed by the Sanggunian Panlungsod;
4. Encode all resolutions, ordinances and minutes of the Sanggunian Panlungsod meetings to facilitate immediate information to the general public;
5. Forward to the City Mayor for approval copies of ordinances enacted by the Sanggunian and duly certified by the Presiding Officer as provided for in Section 54 of R.A. 7160;
6. Forward to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, copies of duly approved ordinances as provided for under Section 56 and 57 of R.A. 7160;
7. Translate into dialect used by the majority of the inhabitants all ordinances and resolutions immediately after approval and publish the same together with the original version in the manner;
8. Keeps office and all non-confidential records therein open to the public during the usual business.
