Message from the Mayor
“Progress is a historical force which carries along those who drift with it and crushes those who oppose its current. One may go before, beside or behind it but one cannot go against it and still keep going. There must be progress and those who go ahead guide the direction of its movement” –“The Philosophy of Rizal”
The City of Calamba has been continually rising up to the challenge of going ahead, guiding and forging the direction of progress. We have found out that only in mastering progress could we harness its full potential in our advantage and to the benefit of our beloved Calambeños. This monumental task proved daunting at first, with progress tending to overwhelm the city at times but through perseverance and sheer will, the city emerged victorious.
As we face a bright future, we envision the city to be the premiere city of growth, of leisure and of national pride this side of Metro Manila. Our strategic location makes us a veritable mecca for foreign and local investors which in turn, draw scores of job seekers to try their destiny in the city. Our hot spring resorts, public and private pools and historical landmarks entice local and foreign tourists alike to experience the wonders of nature and the lessons of history. The city’s position as the site of Region IV-A CALABARZON’s Regional Government Center remains secure and its distinction as the guiding force of progress in Southern Tagalog remains unchallenged.
